Product Features

- Lens technology that achieves 20mm F1.4
A large double-sided aspheric lens with an outer diameter of approximately 59mm is used to achieve a maximum aperture of F1.4 at an ultra-wide-angle focal length of 20mm. The latest design minimizes distortion and lateral chromatic aberration. Two FLD glass elements and five SLD glass elements are used to thoroughly correct lateral chromatic aberration, which is mainly noticeable at the periphery of the image. In addition, the lens power arrangement ensures excellent correction of axial chromatic aberration. The lens also eliminates color blur and delivers high image quality across the entire shooting range. Sharp, high-contrast images can be obtained.

- High-Speed Lens" ideal for snapshots
A bright lens that allows hand-held shooting even in low light is called a "high-speed lens," and is useful for shooting indoors, night scenes, and in poor weather conditions where light levels are insufficient. As an ultra-wide-angle lens, it also has no noticeable distortion, making it ideal for construction photography, landscape photography, and starscape photography. In addition to ultra-wide-angle pan-focus photography, the lens can also be used for snapshots with a clear subject, as it is capable of blurring the background near maximum aperture. This performance is made possible by the high resolution and excellent image quality from the widest aperture setting, designed for ultra-high pixel digital cameras.

- Art line lenses for a high level of artistic expression
Sigma interchangeable lenses are categorized into three product lines, Contemporary, Art, and Sports, each with its own distinct concept. The Art line was developed by focusing all design elements on the highest optical performance and rich expressiveness. With its overwhelming descriptive performance that meets the most demanding standards, it is suitable for landscapes, portraits, still-life, close-ups, and snaps, as well as for creating photographs that make the most of the photographer's artistic sensibilities. It is also suitable for studio photography, architecture, celestial photography, and all other genres of expression.

- Optional metal lens caps available
The LC907-02 metal lens cap (sold separately) is available at the same time to match the high-quality appearance of the lens. The cap is made of the same material as the lens barrel, allowing users to enjoy the integrated feel of the new lens line, even down to the cap.

- Compatible with the SIGMA USB DOCK for the new lens line
The SIGMA USB DOCK (sold separately) can be used to update lens firmware and adjust the focus position. The SIGMA Optimization Pro software can be used to update and adjust the firmware.

- All products are inspected by Sigma's proprietary MTF measuring instrument "A1
Until now, lens performance has been measured using an MTF measuring instrument that uses a general-purpose sensor, but Sigma has developed its own MTF measuring instrument, "A1*," which uses a 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensor. All SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM Art lenses are inspected by the A1 before shipping.

- Adoption of a Circular Aperture
The use of a 9-blade circular aperture allows the photographer to enjoy a circular bokeh effect near maximum aperture.

- High-speed autofocusing with HSM
HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) delivers faster and quieter autofocusing speed, optimized AF algorithm for smooth autofocusing, and a new full-time manual mechanism that switches to manual focus when the focus ring is rotated even during AF operation. The new full-time manual mechanism enables quick focus adjustment even during AF operation. This allows for quick focus adjustment. The camera can also switch to the conventional full-time manual focus mode by using the SIGMA USB DOCK (sold separately).
(*The initial operation of the full-time manual focus differs depending on the mount.)

- Brass bayonet mount
The brass mount combines high precision and robustness. To ensure that the lens can withstand long-term use, a surface treatment has been applied to increase its strength and ensure high-quality lens production.

- Support for "Mount Exchange Service
Leveraging the know-how and resources accumulated through the production of a wide variety of interchangeable lenses, Sigma has launched the "Mount Exchange Service" to enable photographers to change the specifications of the mounts and internal systems of the new concept line to the mount of their choice. This service will allow photographers to "fix" their favorite lenses to match the new camera bodies they will purchase in the future, and to use them for many years to come without being restricted by their current camera systems.
*The "Mount Replacement Service" (charged service) is different from normal repair and support services, and cannot be accepted at retailers.
