This standard zoom lens covers the image circle of a 35mm full-size image sensor and has a focal length range of 28-105mm, from wide-angle to mid-telephoto. The latest optical design and the use of numerous high-performance lenses ensure good correction of various aberrations and sufficient peripheral illumination. The PENTAX K-1, which boasts an effective pixel count of approximately 36.4 megapixels, is capable of outputting ultra-high-resolution images without regret. The compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry and offers excellent cost performance, making it suitable as a regular-use lens.

- High descriptive performance compatible with full-size digital SLR cameras
The 11-group 15-element lens construction uses two high-precision aspherical lenses and one each of special low-dispersion (ED) glass and anomalous low-dispersion glass, which are effective in reducing chromatic aberration, to deliver clear images with minimal spherical aberration and chromatic aberration. In addition, the optical design has high resolving power for precise imaging in order to accommodate large, high-resolution image sensors.

- HD Coating" for enhanced descriptive performance
HD Coating" is a unique high-performance multi-coating system. Compared to conventional multi-coatings, the HD Coating is less reflective and has higher transmittance, which reduces ghosting and flare in backlit and other harsh lighting conditions, resulting in clear, high-contrast images.

The "Quick-Shift Focus System" enables manual focusing without switching to the manual mode after the autofocus has focused on the subject.
