A standard single focal length lens with a focal length equivalent to 53mm (*35mm film camera equivalent), a highly versatile standard angle of view that is close to how the naked eye sees, and a bright f/2.0 maximum aperture, delivering sharp, crisp, high descriptive performance and rich bokeh effect.

- High descriptive performance with sharp and crisp resolution
The lens is composed of 9 elements in 6 groups. From shooting with a maximum aperture of 2.0, the lens delivers high-contrast, high-resolution images that can only be achieved with a single focal length lens.

- Compact optical design
The compact optical design is achieved with two aspherical lens elements. With a maximum diameter of 60 mm and an overall lens length of 45.9 mm, the slim and stylish lens exterior provides comfortable handling for the photographer and brings out natural expressions from the subject without making them aware of the presence of the lens.

- High-speed AF drive with a maximum speed of 0.08 seconds (*1)
The inner focus method (*2) is adopted to focus by moving the lightweight lens group. The stepping motor (*3), which is quiet and easy to control, drives the lens to achieve fast and quiet autofocusing. The high-speed AF that captures the slightest gestures of the subject is a must-have specification for snapshooters.

*2: A method in which the relatively small lens in the middle or rear part of the lens is moved without moving the front part, which consists of relatively large lenses.
*3: A motor that rotates by a fixed angle in response to electrical pulse signals, enabling high-precision positioning.

- Metal exterior and dustproof, drip-proof, -10°C low-temperature resistant construction
Metal exterior parts with superior texture and rigidity are used throughout. The dials, which can be operated with a pleasant feel and response, stimulate the photographer's desire to shoot. In addition, the lens barrel is sealed at a total of eight locations, making it dustproof, drip-proof, and resistant to temperatures as low as -10℃. This tough design supports the photographer's footwork to the maximum extent, regardless of the shooting conditions.

- Two types of genuine lens hoods
The lens hood blocks unwanted light from entering the lens to maintain the optical performance of the lens. Two types of hoods are available: a lightweight and compact circular hood (included with the XF35mmF2 R WR) and a classic and stylish metal hood with holes LH-XF35-2 (sold separately). Both hoods can be used to attach the front lens cap without removing the hood.
