Thorough correction of chromatic aberration and reduction of flare and ghosting deliver high resolution throughout the entire zoom range, even to the periphery of the image. This is the first full-fledged telephoto zoom lens in the “X Mount” series that covers the range from 84mm at the wide-angle end to 305mm at the telephoto end (35mm film camera equivalent) with a single lens.

- Advanced optical design allows the lens to cover the range from 84mm at the wide-angle end to 305mm at the telephoto end (35mm film camera equivalent) with a maximum aperture of f/3.5-4.8. With a filter diameter of 62mm and a weight of 580g, the lens is compact and lightweight, offering both mobility and descriptive performance at a high level.

- Equipped with an image stabilization mechanism for a shutter speed of 4.5 stops. It detects and compensates for a wide range of blurring, from slow, low-frequency blurring to fine, high-frequency blurring, and provides a high degree of correction.

- Two linear motor drives enable high-speed AF in as fast as 0.28 seconds (in accordance with CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) guidelines). The camera is also quiet, making it suitable for movie shooting.

- Two ED lenses, including one “Super ED lens” with performance comparable to fluorite lenses with superior optical performance, are employed. These lenses provide excellent correction of chromatic aberration (blurring of images and blurring of colors caused by the characteristics of each wavelength of light), which tends to occur in the long focal length range, and deliver high resolution all the way to the corners of the image at the entire zoom range.

- FUJINON's proprietary HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) multilayer coating process is applied to both sides of all lenses. HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) is used on both sides of all lenses to provide excellent anti-reflection and reduce flare and ghosting.

- Minimum focusing distance of 1.1m across the entire zoom range. This allows you to enjoy close-up photography that is only possible with telephoto lenses, where you can capture a large portion of the subject.

- An aperture ring with 1/3 EV steps is mounted on the lens barrel. With the camera in place, you can precisely control exposure and depth of field with your left hand.

- Metal parts are used for the focusing ring and aperture ring for a high quality feel and robustness.

*New firmware for the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 and FUJIFILM X-E1 will be released in conjunction with the launch.
This firmware includes a new algorithm for faster focus position detection during AF throughout the entire zoom range and shooting distance range. In combination with the “FUJINON Lens XF55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS,” the new firmware achieves the fastest AF speed of 0.7 seconds even when the focus position is detected over the entire shooting distance range at the telephoto end. The AF speed is also faster with all other FUJINON XF lenses (*1).
