- A new standard for ultra-wide-angle lenses achieved through the establishment of φ80mm class glass-molded aspherical lens processing technology
Recent improvements in aspherical lens processing technology at Sigma's Aizu Plant have made it possible to produce products using high-precision φ80mm class large-aperture glass-molded aspherical lenses. Using this φ80mm class large-aperture aspherical lens, Sigma has begun development of a lens that will set a new standard for ultra-wide angle lenses. As the ultimate ultra-wide-angle lens, we began designing a single focal length lens and a zoom lens at the same time, focusing on the “14mm” focal length. The SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM Art, launched in 2017, is the ultimate single-focal length ultra-wide-angle lens, offering unprecedented image quality and an aperture of F1.8. SIGMA 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art The SIGMA 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art is the definitive large-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that achieves high image quality in all focal lengths and at all shooting distances, with a brightness of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range and minimal distortion.

- The Art line promises the highest image quality. 

Zero distortion and compatibility with 50-megapixel class FF cameras.
To achieve high performance all the way to the periphery across the entire zoom range for use on high-resolution cameras with more than 50 megapixels, three aspherical lenses, including a large-aperture aspherical lens, were used in addition to three FLD glass elements and three SLD glass elements. The effective placement of high-refractive-index glass further enhances the correction effect of the FLD and SLD glass, resulting in high image quality with high resolution while maintaining good control of various aberrations such as lateral chromatic aberration. Distortion has been reduced to less than 1% (at infinity) by optimizing the lens power arrangement, including a large-diameter aspheric lens on the first surface. The lens maintains dot-to-dot performance all the way to the periphery of the image, while ensuring an abundant amount of peripheral light. Flare and ghosting are also simulated from the design stage and corrected to a high level for an ultra-wide angle lens.

- Compatible with “Lens Optical Compensation” on the camera side (*Only for Canon)
For Canon lenses, the lens is compatible with the in-camera aberration correction functions “Lens Optical Compensation” (vignetting correction, chromatic aberration correction, and distortion correction) provided with the camera*. Corrections that match the optical characteristics of the lens enable further improvement of image quality.

- Dustproof and drip-proof for professional use. Compatibility and robustness that allows you to concentrate on shooting with peace of mind, even in the harshest environments.
As with the Sports line, the lens is dustproof and drip-proof, with sealed joints at the mount, manual ring, zoom ring, and outer body, allowing photographers to shoot regardless of weather conditions. In addition, the frontmost surface of the lens is coated with a water and stain repellent coating. The lens surface can be easily maintained. In addition, the fast and accurate AF system enables instantaneous shooting.

- Full-time manual mechanism
The lens is equipped with a full-time manual mechanism that allows manual focusing by simply turning the focus ring even while the autofocus is in operation. This allows for quick focus adjustment without switching focus modes.

- Flare and Ghosting
Thorough measures against flare and ghosting were taken from the initial stage of lens design, and the lens is designed to be less susceptible to strong incident light, such as backlighting. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides high-contrast images even when shooting in backlit conditions. The included floral hood effectively cuts out harmful light that can adversely affect the lens's rendering and prevents internal reflections from occurring.

- Compatible with the MC-11 mount converter. Lenses can be shared by multiple bodies.
The MC-11 Mount Converter allows Sigma SA lenses and Canon lenses to be used with Sony E-mount bodies. Sigma lenses can also be used with Sony E-mount bodies.

- A full range of customizable functions allows you to adjust the usability and application of the lens as desired.
The SIGMA USB DOCK (sold separately) allows users to update lens firmware and adjust the focus position. The lens is attached to the SIGMA USB DOCK, which is connected to a PC, and the dedicated software “SIGMA Optimization Pro” can be used to update and adjust the firmware.
