A compact and lightweight ultra-telephoto zoom lens that allows you to easily enjoy shooting at 200-800mm equivalent (35mm film camera equivalent).

- Compact and lightweight ultra-telephoto zoom lens capable of shooting up to 1600mm-equivalent when used with a 2x teleconverter (sold separately)
The lens is equivalent to 200-800mm(*1) on its own, and the optional 1.4x teleconverter “M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 1.4x Teleconverter MC-14” and 2x teleconverter “M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 2x Teleconverter When used together with the 2x teleconverter, the MC-20 enables ultra-telephoto photography equivalent to a maximum of 1600mm(*1). This allows photographers to take advantage of the unique characteristics of telephoto lenses, such as capturing large images of wild birds that are difficult to get close to, or taking advantage of the compression effect when creating images. Furthermore, the minimum focusing distance of 1.3 m and maximum magnification of 0.57x(*1) are achieved throughout the entire zoom range, providing excellent tele macro performance for capturing even small subjects such as insects and flowers. It also supports “depth composite mode” (*2), in which multiple shots are taken at different focus points and combined into a single photo with a wider range of subjects in focus.

In addition to four ED lenses(*3) that suppress color blur, the optical system uses a combination of two Super HR lenses(*4) and two HR lenses(*5) to achieve bright and clear image rendering performance throughout the entire zoom range, even on the periphery of the image. The ZERO Coating, which reduces ghosting and flare, is also employed to ensure clear image quality even under adverse conditions such as backlighting. In addition, the camera is thoroughly sealed in various areas to achieve the same dustproof and drip-proof performance as the highly reliable “M.ZUIKO PRO” series, allowing photographers to shoot with peace of mind in any environment.

- Comfortable AF and in-lens image stabilization even in the ultra-telephoto range
The rear-focusing system, in which a lightweight focusing lens is moved for focusing, achieves high-speed and high-precision AF performance. The camera is equipped with a focus limit switch that can switch the AF drive range in three stages according to the shooting distance, enabling quick focusing and comfortable shooting even in the ultra-telephoto shooting range. The camera is also equipped with an in-lens image stabilizer for stable hand-held shooting at ultra-telephoto distances.
