- Standard macro lens that enables a wide variety of photographic expression with a single lens
The lens configuration of 11 elements in 9 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses and 2 ED lenses, suppresses various aberrations such as chromatic aberration, spherical aberration, and curvature of the image plane to achieve high resolution performance. With a standard focal length of 30mm (equivalent to 46mm in 35mm format), which is close to the human field of view, the lens allows users to take portraits and snapshots with a natural perspective.

- The minimum focusing distance of 10cm allows the photographer to get as close as 1.2cm from the tip of the lens to the subject. The maximum magnification of 1x (equivalent to 1.5x in 35mm format) is also achieved. This allows users to enjoy a wide variety of photographic expressions with a single lens, such as powerful macro photography of plants and insects, and tabletop photography with close-up shots of tabletop dishes, even in limited space.

The inner focus system, which uses linear motors to drive the compact and lightweight focus lens group, achieves high-speed, high-precision AF in a minimum of approximately 0.02 seconds*. This enables quiet and smooth focusing in close-up photography, where the amount of movement of the focus lens is large. In addition, the high resolution linear motor enables accurate focusing even in macro photography where the depth of field is shallow.
