Large aperture single focal length lens with a focal length of 56mm (35mm film equivalent: 85mm) for medium telephoto.

While maintaining the brightness of a maximum aperture of 1.2, the resolution performance and close-up shooting performance have been greatly improved.

- High resolution performance and beautiful bokeh effect
The lens construction of 13 elements in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical lens elements and 1 ED lens element, suppresses chromatic aberration and spherical aberration to deliver high resolution performance from the center to the periphery of the image. It also delivers smooth bokeh from the focus plane to the background.
A total of eight lenses, including three high-refraction lenses used in cinema camera lenses, are used in the focus group. Aberration fluctuations are suppressed to enable high image quality shooting from the shortest shooting distance to infinity.
This is the first interchangeable lens for mirrorless digital cameras to feature 11 diaphragm blades, which creates an aperture shape closer to a circle than previous models. Furthermore, the use of an ultra-high-precision aspherical lens manufactured using a mold machined to an accuracy of 1/100,000 mm reduces the appearance of annual rings on the inner side of the bokeh, and other features that contribute to a beautiful bokeh effect have been carefully considered.

With a focal length of 56mm (equivalent to 85mm in 35mm format) and a maximum aperture of 1.2, this large-aperture medium-telephoto lens is ideal for portrait photography, making the subject stand out beautifully from the background.
The minimum focusing distance of approximately 50cm, which is approximately 20cm shorter than that of the previous model, enables close-up photography. This allows photographers to get even closer to their subjects, making it possible to enjoy a wide range of shooting situations, such as table and snapshots.

- Advanced DC motor for fast and accurate AF to capture the subject
The camera is equipped with a DC motor suitable for driving large lenses. The motor can precisely drive a total of eight lenses and the focus group, including the aperture unit, to achieve AF that captures the subject quickly and accurately. Even when shooting in shallow depth of field, where advanced focusing is required, the decisive moment will not be missed.
A bearing mechanism has been adopted to thoroughly suppress friction caused by the DC motor when driving the lens. This reduces the noise of the motor.

- Newly adopted dustproof, drip-proof, and -10°C low-temperature resistant construction for high practicality
The compact and lightweight “X Mount System” design achieves a weight of approximately 445g and a length of approximately 76mm despite the large aperture lens with a maximum aperture of 1.2. This reduces the burden of carrying the lens attached to the camera, allowing users to enjoy comfortable shooting.
The lens barrel is newly designed to be dustproof, drip-proof, and resistant to temperatures as low as -10°C with sealing in nine locations. In addition, the front element of the lens is coated with a fluorine coating to repel water and dirt. The lens can be used safely in outdoor environments with light rain or dust.
