Product Features
- High image quality throughout the entire zoom range
Chromatic aberration is well corrected throughout the entire zoom range by effectively arranging four UD lenses while taking advantage of the large aperture mount and short back focus. While achieving a significant reduction in size, the EF70-200mm F4L IS II USM delivers image quality equal to or better than that of the well-established EF70-200mm F4L IS II USM.
- Image stabilization performance: 5.0 stops*1 ・Coordinated 7.5 stops*2
When attached to the EOS R5/R6 with in-body IS, the camera delivers an image stabilization effect of up to 7.5 stops (when shooting still images), allowing you to shoot in dark scenes with the 200mm focal length and snap away with ease while handheld.
*1 At 200mm focal length, when using the EOS R. Based on CIPA standard, Yaw/Pitch direction.
*Yaw/Pitch direction.
- Compact and lightweight: approx. 119mm at wide angle, approx. 695g
By adopting a zoom type with a variable overall length that takes advantage of the "large-diameter mount and short back focus," the EOS R5 achieves a compact size and light weight that were not possible before. This enables excellent portability and highly mobile shooting.
- Improved AF performance with nano USM
The nano USM is quiet, fast, and controllable. The latest system controls focusing and floating with two independent nano USMs to achieve high-speed, high-precision focusing at any focal length and subject distance. During movie recording, the quiet and smooth AF and the suppression of subject magnification fluctuation (breathing) caused by focusing also ensure natural-looking movies.
