Product Features
- Smallest and lightest pancake lens in the RF lens series
By placing three large-diameter, high-precision plastic-molded aspherical lenses in front of the CMOS sensor, the number of lens elements is kept to a minimum to achieve excellent descriptive performance from the center to the periphery while reducing the size.
The smallest and lightest RF lens series with a maximum diameter of approximately 69.2mm, an overall length of approximately 24.7mm (when retracted), and a weight of approximately 120g, the lens offers excellent portability. It can also be carried on the camera in place of a body cap.
- Easy-to-use focal length for a wide range of shooting situations
When mounted on a full-size camera, the 28mm focal length wide-angle lens offers a wide angle of view that is easy to use even indoors and a moderately emphasized perspective, making it suitable for a wide range of shooting situations, including snapshots and landscape photography.
When mounted on an APS-C size camera, the lens can be used as a standard lens with a focal length equivalent to 45mm, and can be used for a variety of subjects such as portraits, food photography, and table photography, taking advantage of its natural perspective close to the human field of view and moderate distance from the subject.
- Expression that makes the most of the brightness and bokeh characteristic of a single focal length lens
The bright F2.8 maximum aperture value allows you to take high-quality photographs with a soft, large blur in the background, allowing you to enjoy the expression that only a single focal length lens can provide.
The brightness of the lens can be used to take advantage of fast shutter speed settings to take pictures with minimal blurring of the subject.
The first RF lens pancake lens with a weight of approx. 120g
Smallest size in the history of RF lenses
By placing three large-diameter, high-precision PMo (plastic mold) aspherical lenses in front of the sensor, the number of lens elements is kept to a minimum while achieving both excellent descriptive performance from the center to the periphery and compact size. Combined with the compact and lightweight EOS R series cameras, this lens offers excellent portability and is lightweight without being bulky even with the lens attached.
Can be used as a wide-angle 28mm F2.8 lens when attached to a full-size camera
With a wide angle of view that makes it easy to shoot indoors and a moderately emphasized perspective, the lens can be used for a wide range of photographic situations, including landscapes and snapshots.
When mounted on an APS-C size camera, the lens can be used as a standard 45mm equivalent F2.8 lens
The natural perspective of a standard lens and the moderate distance that makes it easy to communicate with the subject make it possible to easily capture a wide range of shooting scenes such as portraits, snapshots, food photography, and table photography.
