- Large aperture at f/2.8 covers a wide range of ultra wide-angle to wide-angle range
The 11-18mm covers the angle of view range of 16.5mm to 27mm (35mm film camera equivalent) at F2.8, which is equivalent to approximately four single focal length lenses.
This angle-of-view range is also convenient for use with a standard zoom lens with an F2.8 maximum aperture.
