The "smc PENTAX-FA35mmF2AL", which has been well-received over the years, has undergone a complete review of its coatings, and the latest high-performance multi-coating "HD Coating" has been adopted. Compared to the conventional multi-coating, the HD coating is less reflective and has higher transmittance, which reduces ghosting and flare under severe shooting conditions, such as backlighting, and delivers clear images with high contrast.

- Dirt-resistant SP (Super Protect) Coating
The front of the lens is coated with SP (Super Protect) coating, which is highly water- and oil-repellent and easy to wipe clean, ensuring safe use even in outdoor shooting environments.

- New design that matches the latest models
While maintaining the size of the base "smc PENTAX-FA35mmF2AL," the design has been completely redesigned. The new design matches the latest DA and D FA lenses, making it a compact single focal length lens that matches well with K series digital SLR cameras. The aperture ring has been retained so that it can be used with a wide range of older K-mount digital SLR cameras and film SLR cameras, allowing users to enjoy shooting with a wide range of models.

- Easy-to-use standard lens
When attached to a Ricoh digital SLR camera, the lens provides a standard angle of view equivalent to a 35mm quasi-wide-angle lens for full-frame cameras and 53.5mm on the 35mm format for APS-C cameras. As a standard lens that provides an angle of view close to the natural human field of view, it is an ideal regular-use lens for a variety of subjects, including snaps, landscapes, and portraits. It also offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m.
