- High-definition imaging performance
When attached to the PENTAX K-1 35mm full-frame digital SLR camera, the lens provides an ultra-wide angle of view with a focal length of 15-30mm, enabling landscape photographers to create more spectacular works with its overwhelming perspective. Furthermore, the focal length of 30mm on the telephoto side provides a focal range that can also be used for snapshots.

- State-of-the-art optical design
The 13-group 18-element lens construction with three elements of special low-dispersion (ED) glass and three aspherical lens elements thoroughly corrects chromatic aberration, distortion, and coma aberration to achieve high contrast and high-resolution images right to the periphery.

- F2.8 large-aperture lens
With a maximum aperture of F2.8 across the entire zoom range, this lens is bright and ideal for shooting landscapes as well as night and starry landscapes, expanding your shooting range considerably. The minimum focusing distance is 28cm, which allows the photographer to take advantage of the out-of-focus effect of the background, despite the ultra wide-angle lens.

The new ultrasonic motor (SDM) mounted in the lens enables fast and quiet autofocusing for comfortable operation.

The entire lens is sealed to prevent water droplets from entering the lens. Combined with a Ricoh digital SLR camera body that is drip-proof, the lens is more reliable in rain, fog, or splashing water.

- HD Coating" for enhanced descriptive performance
The latest high-performance multi-coating "HD Coating" is employed. Compared to conventional multi-coatings, the HD Coating is less reflective and has higher transmittance, which reduces ghosting and flare in backlit and other harsh lighting conditions, resulting in clear images with high contrast.
