The combination of an APS-C size CMOS sensor with approximately 24.1 effective megapixels, the DIGIC 8 imaging engine, and RF lenses that deliver outstanding descriptive performance, enables high quality still image and video recording.
The camera delivers the outstanding descriptive performance of an APS-C size mirrorless camera, including natural bokeh and beautiful resolution, which are difficult to achieve with a smartphone.
High-sensitivity shooting at a maximum of ISO 12800 for normal use during still image shooting. Noise is reduced during high-sensitivity shooting, enabling a high degree of freedom of photographic expression even in dark locations.
- High-speed, high-precision AF for comfortable portrait photography
The camera is equipped with "Pupil Detection," which precisely captures the eyes of a person at a distance. Even during Servo AF and Movie Servo AF, the camera can detect the eyes of a moving subject.
The camera can continuously capture images at a maximum speed of approximately 6.5 frames per second with one-shot AF and approximately 3.5 frames per second with servo AF.
The camera is equipped with "Spot 1-point AF," which focuses with an even smaller AF frame than the "1-point AF. It can also be used during servo AF to focus on small moving subjects.
- Video Performance for Various Shooting Scenes
4K/24P movie recording enables high-definition and realistic expression. HD/120P high frame rate movie recording is also available for smooth, instantaneous motion with slow playback.
By setting the addition of video vertical position information, videos shot with the camera in portrait orientation can be played back as portrait orientation videos on smartphones and other devices.
The video Electronic IS enables stable video recording with minimal camera shake, even with lenses that do not have an in-lens IS. Furthermore, when an RF lens equipped with in-lens IS is mounted, the coordinated control of the movie electronic IS and in-lens IS reduces blurring more effectively. The camera can be used in a wide variety of shooting situations, including shooting while walking.
