Equipped with the newly developed back-illuminated 40.2 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and the X-Processor 5 high-speed image processing engine, this flagship model achieves the highest image quality ever in the X series. It is capable of capturing not only high quality photos by taking advantage of its high pixel count, but also high definition 8K/30P video.

- The newly developed back-illuminated "X-Trans CMOS 5 HR" sensor with approx. 40.2 megapixels and the image processing algorithm have been innovated to improve resolution while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio. This delivers the highest image quality in the history of the X series. Furthermore, the new sensor has an improved pixel structure that allows more light to be captured efficiently, making it possible to use ISO 125 as the normal sensitivity, making it ideal for daytime outdoor photography and for taking pictures that take advantage of the bokeh effect created by bright lenses.

- The new sensor enables more precise control of exposure time. The fastest shutter speed of the electronic shutter has been increased by approximately 2.5 stops from 1/32000 sec. of the previous model (FUJIFILM X-T4) to 1/180000 sec. This allows photographers to use a large-aperture lens to shoot with a wide aperture in highly illuminated environments such as sunny beaches and slopes, as well as to capture fleeting moments in studios and other settings.

- The X series is the first to feature Pixel Shift Multi-Shot, which enables shooting with four times the resolution and faithful color reproduction. The camera's in-body image stabilization function shifts the image sensor with ultra-high precision for automatic shooting, capturing 20 images with a single shutter release. Furthermore, by processing the acquired images using the dedicated software "Pixel Shift Combiner," the camera can generate images of approximately 160 million pixels, making it ideal for commercial photography and digital archiving of cultural assets.

- The "Smooth Skin Effect," which automatically retouches the skin, is the first of its kind in the X series. This reduces the time and effort required for retouching in portrait photography, etc., and allows the creation of highly finished image data in a shorter time.

Responding to Professional Video Production Needs with Enhanced Video Performance

- The X series is the first camera to support 8K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video recording. The same heat-dissipating structure as the X-H2S is employed to enable 160 minutes of 8K/30P video recording. The camera also features a new "4K HQ" mode that generates high-quality 4K video from the abundant amount of 8K data. This mode enables the camera to produce high-resolution images that take full advantage of the high pixel sensor.

- Three Apple ProRes codecs (ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and 422 LT) are supported, including ProRes 422 Proxy for proxy shooting during ProRes shooting. This reduces the editing load on 8K video and streamlines and saves labor throughout the entire workflow, from shooting to post-production.

- A new digital zoom function is available for use during video recording. Even when a single focal length lens is attached, a digital zoom of up to 2x is possible without loss of resolution. In combination with the XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR interchangeable lens, which supports motorized zoom, the camera seamlessly switches from optical zoom to digital zoom for smooth video expression.

Equipped with advanced AF to accurately capture the subject

- The camera is equipped with a subject detection AF developed using deep learning technology. Animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains can be detected by AI. The camera automatically tracks the targeted subject while keeping it in focus, allowing the photographer to concentrate on the shutter release opportunity and composition.

- The higher pixel count of the image sensor has increased the number of phase detection pixels, improving AF-S focusing accuracy for high-frequency subjects such as animal hair and fine foliage. More accurate focusing is possible in landscape and portrait photography. It also employs the same AF predictive algorithm as the X-H2S, which is ideal for shooting moving subjects, to ensure stable focusing even when using AF-C.

- The magnification of the focus assist, which can magnify the area to be focused on during AF/MF, has been increased up to 12 times, twice that of the previous model (FUJIFILM X-T4). In addition, a focus meter has been newly added as a function for more precise MF during movie recording, enabling more accurate focus adjustment.
