The Charles Darwin Foundation is an international nonprofit organization that first began conservation activities in the Galápagos in 1959 and operates the Charles Darwin Research Station.
Currently, more than 100 staff members from around the world are engaged in a variety of activities, including research on the Galápagos Islands’ terrestrial and marine wildlife and ecosystems, nature conservation efforts on the islands, and environmental education for local residents.
