The lens is designed to provide high sharpness and F2.8 brightness across the entire image plane with good correction of each aberration in a compact lens configuration. The lens provides a high image rendering power at any aperture value, starting from the maximum aperture, to create a powerful image with a strong perspective that is unique to ultra wide-angle lenses.
The lens uses aspherical lenses and special low-dispersion glass, which require advanced processing techniques. In particular, the use of an aspherical lens with a large eccentricity and refractive index as the first lens element has enabled a lens configuration with a reduced number of elements. The lens is designed to achieve both high resolution and a compact and lightweight overall lens.
