A super-telephoto zoom lens that combines excellent AF tracking performance with high image quality and mobility.

- Dual MPU (microprocessor) system delivers excellent AF tracking and image stabilization performance
The control system employs a dual MPU system with a separate MPU dedicated to image stabilization processing to improve the computing power of the entire system. Furthermore, the use of an MPU with a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) block, which has high signal processing capacity, achieves excellent AF tracking and image stabilization performance essential for telephoto zoom lenses.

- High image quality worthy of an ultra-telephoto zoom lens
The lens configuration is optimally designed and three special LD (Low Dispersion) lenses are arranged for effective aberration correction. While balancing aberration correction, the lens delivers improved transmittance and clear, crisp image quality with a sense of contrast. With a minimum focusing distance of 1.5m and a maximum magnification of 1:3.6, close-up photography can also be enjoyed.

- E-BAND coating reduces ghosting and flare
Tamron's proprietary eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) coating, which combines a nanostructured film with an ultra-low refractive index microstructure and high-precision multi-coating technology to provide excellent anti-reflection performance. BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating, which improves anti-reflection and transmittance over a wide wavelength range, thoroughly suppresses ghosting and flare that can easily occur when shooting in backlit conditions, resulting in clear, crisp images.

- Lightest in its class* at 1115g, this super-telephoto zoom lens is designed for mobility.
The lens barrel near the mount is made of magnesium alloy to achieve the lightest weight in its class* 1115g (for Nikon). Its size allows it to be easily stowed in an ordinary camera bag, and its VC image stabilization function enables comfortable hand-held ultra-telephoto shooting.

- An optional accessory tripod mount is available to expand the shooting range.
A tripod mount compatible with an Arca Swiss-compatible quick shoe, which is easy to attach and detach and offers excellent stability, has been designed exclusively for the Model A035. The seat surface of the tripod seat has been extended and a grip shape has been adopted to make it easier to hold. The use of magnesium as a material reduces the weight of the tripod and eases the burden of hand-held shooting.

- Compatible with teleconverters and TAP-in Console
The TAP-in Console (Model TAP-01) is an accessory that allows users to customize the teleconverter (1.4x and 2x*) exclusively for Tamron lenses, lens firmware updates, AF focus position, image stabilizer operation mode, etc. It is compatible with the TAP-in Console (Model TAP-01).

*When using the 1.4x teleconverter, the maximum aperture F-number is reduced by one stop; when using the 2x teleconverter, the maximum aperture F-number is reduced by two stops.

- Simple drip-proof construction and smudge-proof coating support comfortable outdoor shooting
The frontmost lens is coated with a fluorine compound that is highly water- and oil-repellent and stain-resistant. Dust, water droplets, hand grease, and other contaminants adhering to the lens surface can be easily wiped off, making maintenance easy. In consideration of outdoor shooting, the lens barrel is equipped with a simple drip-proof structure with drip-proof seals at various moving parts and joints to prevent water drops from entering the lens interior.

- Adoption of Electromagnetic Aperture System for Nikon
The electromagnetic diaphragm system, in which the aperture blades are driven and controlled by a motor built into the lens body, has been adopted for Nikon lenses*. This enables more precise aperture drive.
