Product Features
- Rich expressiveness unique to full-size cameras combined with a compact and lightweight body
The camera delivers high image quality thanks to a full-size CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of up to approximately 24.2 megapixels*1 and the DIGIC X imaging engine, enabling rich expression unique to full-size cameras, including a large bokeh effect and wide dynamic range.
The high sensitivity of up to ISO 102400 (when shooting still images) allows for a high degree of freedom of photographic expression, even in dark nighttime and indoor scenes.
With a compact and lightweight body measuring approximately 132.5mm (W) x 86.1mm (H) x 70.0mm (D) and weighing approximately 461g*2, the lightest among the EOS R series full-size mirrorless cameras, the R1 offers excellent mobility.
- Inherits the high basic performance of the high-end EOS R6 Mark II, including AF performance, high-speed continuous shooting, and movie performance
The EOS R6 Mark II inherits the high basic performance of the EOS R6 Mark II, including high-speed, high-precision AF covering a wide shooting range, excellent subject detection, and high-speed continuous shooting*3 (with electronic shutter) at a maximum of approximately 40 frames per second with AF/AE tracking.
Furthermore, with 4K/60P movie recording with 6K oversampling without cropping, Full HD/180P high frame rate movie recording*4, and the "Pre-record" function*5 that allows recording movies 5 seconds or 3 seconds before pressing the movie recording button,
5, which allows users to record video from 5 seconds or 3 seconds before pressing the video shooting button.
- High-speed AF and high-speed continuous shooting to capture the decisive moment
The EOS iTR*6 AF X, which utilizes deep learning technology, achieves excellent subject detection and tracking performance.
The "People" mode detects the pupils, face, head, and torso of a person, while the "Animal Priority" mode detects the pupils, face, and torso of a dog, cat, bird, or horse,
The "Vehicle Priority" mode supports whole body and spot detection of motor sports (cars and motorcycles), trains, and airplanes (jets and helicopters) *7.
*Total pixel count is 25.6 million. Effective pixel count may decrease depending on the lens used or image processing.
*2. As of February 8, 2023. Weight includes battery and card, and conforms to CIPA standards.
*3. Please refer to Canon's official website for continuous shooting speed requirements and lenses that support the maximum continuous shooting speed in servo AF mode.
*4. 4K/60P: 4K UHD (59.94fps/50.00fps), Full HD/180P: Full HD (179.82fps/150.00fps).
*5. Pre-recording is not available during high frame rate video recording and time-lapse video recording. Pre-recording is turned on to increase heat generation, so it is recommended to lower the frame rate or change to Full HD when shooting for long periods of time.
*6.intelligent Tracking and Recognition
*7. Some subjects may not be detected. Some subjects may not be detected. In addition, the camera may detect subjects that are not the target of the camera.
