- High resolution with thoroughly minimized aberrations by adopting three ultra-aspherical XA (extreme aspherical) lens elements and one aspherical lens element, including the largest diameter front lens in the history of α lenses.
- High backlight resistance with the newly developed "Nano AR Coating II
- Three ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements and two super-ED glass elements provide excellent chromatic aberration correction.
