Product Features
- Maximum magnification of 1.4x expands the expressive range of macro photography
The short back focus, one of the features of the RF mount, enables macro photography with a maximum magnification of 1.4x and a minimum focusing distance of 0.26m. With a magnification greater than 1.4x, the camera can capture powerful close-up images of the subject, as well as details and textures that are difficult to capture with the naked eye, such as small objects and flowers around you.
- Free bokeh rendering to suit the user's preference with the SA Control Ring
The "SA* Control Ring" can change the spherical aberration. By simply rotating the ring, you can soften the outline of the focus position or change the bokeh before and after the focus position according to your preference, making it easy to enjoy a wide variety of photographic expressions.
*Spherical Aberration.
- New Optical Design and Image Stabilization Mechanism Realize High Image Quality Across the Entire Image Range
The use of a convex lens on the front-most surface suppresses spherical aberration during close-up photography. The new 13-county, 17-element optical design reduces various aberrations that cause image quality degradation and delivers high-quality images across the entire image field. When attached to the EOS R5, the camera's internal image stabilization mechanism and its emphasis on suppression provide an image stabilization performance of 8.0 stops* during still image shooting and a high image stabilization performance during movie shooting as well.
*Complies with CIPA standards.
