In ultra-wide-angle photography, where the depth of field is deep, the shallow depth of field of the SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM Art's F1.8 maximum aperture allows you to create a blur that reflects the scene and offers new and unprecedented expression.
Good correction of chromatic aberration
Three FLD ('F' Low Dispersion) glass elements and four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements are used to ensure excellent correction of lateral chromatic aberration, which is particularly noticeable in ultra-wide angle lenses. The lens delivers high image quality from the center to the periphery of the image.
Large-aperture aspherical lens
Utilizing the aspherical lens processing know-how established with the SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM Art, a high-precision φ80mm large-aperture glass-molded aspherical lens is used at the front of the lens. This has made it possible to produce a 14mm F1.8 lens with specifications that did not exist until now.
High descriptive performance from corner to corner
By adopting a large-diameter φ80mm glass-molded aspheric lens as the front-most element, distortion is effectively suppressed. The lens also has abundant peripheral light intensity, providing high descriptive performance all the way to the corners of the image.
Unique bokeh expression is possible
The shallow depth of field of F1.8 enables the 14mm's ultra-wide aperture to blur out areas not in focus, making the subject stand out and creating a unique, large-aperture expression.
