This monotone color model of the GW-5000 inherits the DNA of the first G-SHOCK model, the DW-5000C, created in 1983, and has undergone a legitimate evolution to radio-controlled solar power.
It reproduces the details of the first model, such as the heavy metal case, screw back, and face design.
While inheriting the DNA of the first generation model, the GW-5000 pursues further toughness.
The metal case and screw back are treated with DLC (diamond-like carbon) to enhance wear resistance.
In addition, the screw back is mirror-finished, creating a sense of high quality.
The bezel, band, and other major resin parts are made of biomass plastic, which is expected to contribute to the reduction of environmental burdens.
The original G-SHOCK design, which was created in 1983, is now equipped with advanced technology to create a model of even higher quality.
