The 5000 Series has continued to evolve uniquely in both functionality and materials, building on the design of the original G-SHOCK “DW-5000C.”
The GMW-BZ5000 is a model that incorporates generative design—created through collaboration between humans and AI—into its structural and exterior design, based on G-SHOCK’s shock-resistant structural data accumulated over more than 40 years.
While retaining the square form that has continued since the first G-SHOCK, the traditional structure—where the bezel fully covers the center case—has been refined using new design methods.
A new structure connecting the bezel and center case at the top and bottom has been developed.
The complex, futuristic shape visible from the case sides emphasizes the beauty of the structure.
A resin inner protector that absorbs shocks through elastic deformation is installed inside, allowing the watch to meet G-SHOCK’s shock-resistant standards despite its all-metal construction.
The stainless steel case features a screw-back design that ensures excellent water resistance.
Additionally, the digital display utilizes a high-definition, wide-viewing-angle, high-contrast MIP (Memory-in-Pixel) LCD.
Compared to conventional LCDs, it enables finer detail and boasts excellent visibility even in bright outdoor conditions or under direct sunlight.
We developed this new MIP LCD specifically to enable operation powered solely by solar energy.
Thanks to a high-resolution full-dot display with memory embedded within each “pixel” that makes up the screen, you can switch between four basic watch faces using the buttons.
Furthermore, by linking with the app, you can switch the main display to a classic 7-segment font.
The time display layout inherits the image of the original G-SHOCK, aiming to fuse advanced functionality with traditional style.
In terms of functionality, it connects to the dedicated “CASIO WATCHES” app via Bluetooth® to retrieve time information.
It is equipped with practical features such as Multi-Band 6 and Tough Solar.
Manufacturing takes place at “Yamagata Casio,” the mother factory that created the original G-SHOCK.
