Product Features
Unparalleled high-resolution and natural, beautiful blurring. AF performance that captures even the most fleeting of changes.
A large-aperture telephoto single focal length lens that has been carefully designed to meet the needs of all photographers.

- The latest optical design, which optimally arranges an ultra-high aspherical XA (extreme aspherical) lens, Super ED (extra-low dispersion) glass, and other elements, achieves high resolution throughout the entire image range from an aperture of 1.8 F.

- One Super ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element and one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element are optimally positioned to provide excellent correction of chromatic aberration on-axis. Pursuit of sharpness

- Floating focus mechanism suppresses aberration variation with shooting distance. The floating focus mechanism suppresses aberration variation with shooting distance.

- Sony's proprietary nano AR coating suppresses flare and ghosting. High contrast, blacks are crisp, and the image has a high level of transparency. Large-diameter, ultra-advanced aspherical XA (extreme aspherical) lens suppresses ring-line blur and controls spherical aberration in both design and manufacturing to achieve beautiful blurring effects.

- The 11-blade circular diaphragm maintains a circular blurring effect even when the aperture is slightly stopped down from maximum aperture.

- Equipped with four of Sony's proprietary XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors, the large, heavy focus group of the large-aperture lens is driven with high speed and precision. In addition, control algorithms optimized for the XD linear motors realize quiet and low-vibration AF.

- The latest optical design and the use of a magnesium alloy for the main chassis make it both lightweight and robust. Achieved a weight of approximately 950g.

- The camera is equipped with a focus range limiter, aperture ring, click switch, and two customizable focus hold buttons for easy operation even when shooting in portrait orientation.

- The manual focus ring is operated by a highly responsive linear-response MF system that enables linear focus movement in response to the angle of rotation.

- Designed to be dustproof and drip-proof (*not completely impervious to dust and water), and with a fluorine coating on the front surface of the lens, the lens is reliable enough to withstand shooting in harsh outdoor environments.
