With a focal length equivalent to 22-35.5mm (35mm format equivalent, when mounted on the 645Z/645D), this 1.6x zoom lens covers the ultra-wide to wide-angle range. The lens can produce unique expressive effects such as an emphasis on perspective and a deep depth of field characteristic of wide-angle photography, and can be used for a variety of scenes, such as vast landscapes and rooms without depth, further expanding the range of photography.

- Latest Optical Design
As the first HD PENTAX-DA series PENTAX 645 lens, the image circle has been optimized for the PENTAX 645Z sensor size. The optical system consists of 17 elements in 12 groups, two high-performance aspherical lenses and two elements of special low-dispersion (ED) glass to minimize aberrations and achieve sufficient peripheral illumination and high resolution. In combination with the lens coatings and anti-reflective material inside the lens barrel, the lens maximizes the performance of medium-format digital SLR cameras.
