G-SHOCK/BABY-G has been creating models in collaboration with various environmental organizations since the late 1990s and continues to support these organizations.
In 2024, under the theme of “Love The Sea And The Earth,” we will continue to support EARTHWATCH, which supports environmental conservation and research in a wide range of areas including endangered ecosystems, marine and biological diversity, and climate change.
The collaboration model features the MUDMAN from the MASTER OF G series, designed in the motif of the Blakiston's fish owl*, which is threatened with extinction due to deforestation and other reasons.
Brown resin is used to represent the feathers of a Blakiston's fish owl, and the stainless steel parts of the bezel are coated with a gold IP coating to resemble the eyes of a Blakiston's fish owl.
EARTHWATCH's call to action, “Change the World. Yourself.” and the EARTHWATCH logo are printed on the band.
The logo also appears on the LED backlight, and the “Love The Sea And The Earth” symbol is engraved on the back cover.
Biomass plastic is used for the material, and the watch is equipped with Tough Solar, which can be powered by even a small amount of light, such as fluorescent lamps.
The packaging uses a special box made of recycled paper.
*A bird species classified in the owl family, Owlidae, in the genus Eagle-eared Owl.
It inhabits the Far East region, and in Japan, it is distributed in Hokkaido.
It is listed as an Endangered Species 1A, the most endangered species in Japan.
