This FX-format compatible super-telephoto zoom lens has a focal length of 200-500mm (when mounted on a DX-format SLR camera, equivalent to 300-750mm in 35mm format), covering the angle of view of lenses from 200mm telephoto to a full-scale super-telephoto 500mm. The lens is equipped with a VR mechanism with a 4.5-step image stabilization effect (*) (based on CIPA standards) to provide powerful support for ultra-telephoto photography. This is a super-telephoto zoom lens that can be easily enjoyed by everyone from those who are just starting out to photography enthusiasts. When used with the AF-S TELECONVERTER TC-14 III mounted on an F8-compatible camera, the focal length can be expanded to 700mm, and AF can be used throughout the entire zoom range.

The viewfinder image is stabilized immediately after the camera is turned on, allowing photographers to capture images with minimal blurring. In addition to the NORMAL VR mode, which is suitable for shooting stationary subjects, the camera also features the SPORT mode, which is effective for shooting moving subjects. ［The SPORT mode provides a stable and adequate stabilization effect in the viewfinder image, making it easy to follow fast-moving subjects or subjects that are rapidly changing from "stop" to "move," making it ideal for shooting sports and other sports scenes. ［In SPORT mode, the viewfinder image is stable during high-speed continuous shooting because the camera is not centered before exposure. The control also emphasizes the continuity of the viewfinder image when the camera is stopped and shaken, making it effective for streaming shots.
