- A new generation of super-telephoto lens that has been significantly renewed using the latest technology to improve AF speed, AF accuracy, and AE accuracy.

- The use of a fluorite lens and other features realize excellent optical performance with low chromatic aberration, and the extremely lightweight weight of approximately 3800g provides high mobility.

- An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism is employed for stable exposure control during high-speed continuous shooting.

- The VR mechanism supports ultra-telephoto shooting with an image stabilization effect of 4.0 stops*.

- NIKKOR's first lens equipped with the newly developed "Sports Mode," a VR mode that provides a stable viewfinder image when shooting sports and other moving subjects.

- The front surface of the lens is coated with Nikon's proprietary fluorine coating, which is highly durable and maintains its excellent antifouling effect for a long period of time. This coating also has an anti-reflective effect and contributes to clear images.

- The tripod seat ring uses a highly durable bearing, allowing for smooth compositional changes in both horizontal and vertical positions.
