Details[About Greatsaurus]
In the late 1970s, during what is known as the Third Kaiju Boom, Popy released the "Greatsaurus Series" and "Kingsaurus Series" (sold from 1978 to 1981). These were collectible toys produced by Popy, a subsidiary of Bandai.
The series’ most distinctive feature was the unique footprints molded onto the feet of every character. Because of this, the series was sometimes referred to as the “Footprint Series.”
It was released as part of both the Ultra Monster Series and the Toho Monster Series.
At the time, Great Saurus featured only select characters from the King Saurus Series, released in giant sizes. Great Saurus Godzilla was later repurposed into items such as lamps and telephone stands, which were sold in novelty shops.
As part of the Godzilla 70th Anniversary project in 2024, the historic Godzilla soft vinyl figure “Great Saurus Godzilla” was faithfully reproduced and reissued using new molds.
As part of the same series, this release features a newly sculpted King Ghidorah in the retro, rounded style of the King Zaurus series. It includes three heads, three necks, two long tails, golden scales covering its entire body, two thick legs, and a pair of massive wings used for flight. Now available in Great Zaurus series size!
Display it alongside the separately sold Great Saurus and Godzilla figures!
*Articulation points: Neck, head, waist, legs, wings (circular articulation)
The soles of the feet feature molds of the Great Saurus footprints from the original era.
The wings feature circular articulation!!
All three necks and heads are individually articulated!!
With movable waist and legs, you can create even more expressive poses!!
The footprints are also reproduced!!
