This full-frame compatible standard zoom lens covers the frequently used focal length range of 28-60mm while achieving an overwhelmingly compact and lightweight design. With its high optical performance, the lens delivers the high resolution of a full-size lens, even to the periphery of the image field, to bring out the high image quality of the α series while allowing you to enjoy shooting still and moving images in a wide variety of everyday situations.

The compact size and lightweight (approx. 167g), achieved by the optimum optical design of the lens group including three aspherical lenses and the mechanical design employing a retractable mechanism (retractable structure), allows for unprecedented portability when mounted on an α-series camera, making it possible to carry it in a bag at any time even when mounted on the body. The α series lenses are ideal for a wide range of situations that require mobility, from everyday snapshots to landscapes, portraits, and travel.

High-speed, high-precision, high-following, and quiet AF for both still and moving images

The linear motor maximizes the speed performance of the camera body to achieve high-speed, high-precision, and high-following autofocusing. Taking advantage of the AF function of the latest E-mount body, the camera is able to meet the photographer's demands and capture every detail, even with subjects that move a great deal.
