The first telephoto lens in the "GF Lens" series with a focal length equivalent to 198mm (35mm film camera equivalent) at a maximum aperture of 4.0.

The lens achieves overwhelming resolving power and rich bokeh effect by utilizing FUJINON lens technology, which is widely used in the broadcasting and cinema industries.

Realization of overwhelming resolving power and rich bokeh effect

The 10-group, 16-element construction, including one Super ED lens and two ED lenses, thoroughly suppresses chromatic aberration to achieve overwhelming resolving power. In addition, the use of a Super ED lens in the focus lens suppresses aberration variation with shooting distance. This enables close-up shooting at a minimum distance of 1.4m and a maximum magnification of 0.22x. You can also enjoy the rich bokeh effect of tele-macro shooting (* close-up shooting with telephoto lenses or zoom lenses at the telephoto end), which emphasizes the subject.

Powerful image stabilization performance

The camera's image stabilization performance is equivalent to 5.0 stops in accordance with the CIPA standard. The GFX 50S's high resolution can be fully exploited even when shooting hand-held with telephoto lenses, which are susceptible to camera shake.

Various functions for comfortable AF operation

The new Focus Preset function allows you to instantly move the focus to a pre-set position using the SET button. This allows you to shoot comfortably without having to readjust the focus on the targeted subject.

The focus limiter limits the range of lens movement when focusing, allowing the lens to be driven for a shorter period of time when shooting subjects at a distance of 5 m or more for smooth AF. The focus limiter can be activated with the shooting distance range switch.

The focus control button* is located at the tip of the lens barrel. The focus select switch allows you to assign your preferred function to the button for comfortable operation of AF, focus lock, etc.

High-speed, quiet, and high-precision AF

The GFX 50S is equipped with a linear motor for fast, quiet, and highly accurate autofocusing.

In addition, a new mechanical mechanism is adopted to fix the linear motor when the power is turned off or when playing back photos taken. This mechanism suppresses unnecessary vibration, just as it does during shooting.

Toughness to withstand a wide range of shooting environments

The lightweight and robust body is made of a magnesium alloy. The lens barrel is sealed at 18 locations to resist dust and drips and is resistant to temperatures as low as -10°C. The front lens bead is coated with a fluorine coating. The front lens bead is coated with a fluorine coating to provide water and dirt repellency and a high level of toughness. The lens can be used in outdoor environments where light rain or dust can be expected.
