The GMW-B5000 series retains the design of the original G-SHOCK model, the DW-5000C, launched in 1983, while featuring a full metal construction and advanced functions including smartphone linking.
A shock-resistant structure, featuring a fine resin cushioning layer between the stainless steel metal bezel and the main case, enables the full metal case.
High-density mounting technology keeps the size compact.
A substantial screw-back case is treated with DLC for excellent wear resistance.
The metal band pieces feature a dimpled finish, inheriting the resin band design of the first model.
It uses a film solar cell and STN-LCD (liquid crystal display).
The face features vivid green glass vapor deposition with textured printing.
Functionally, it connects to a dedicated app via Bluetooth® communication to acquire time information and keep accurate time.
It also features a time correction system using standard radio waves (Multi-band 6), stable operation with Tough Solar, a high-brightness full auto LED backlight, world time, and day of the week display in six languages.
This G-SHOCK inherits its origins while becoming even more sophisticated with its full metal construction.
