- High Mobility
The SIGMA 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM is a new-generation large-aperture standard zoom lens that is the first in the world* to achieve a maximum aperture of 1.8 across the entire zoom range. The bright viewfinder makes it easy to check focus and compose your shot. Also, when shooting under the same conditions as with an F2.8 lens, you can select a shutter speed that is at least one stop faster than F2.8, which reduces camera shake and allows you to take advantage of the shallow depth of field of F1.8 for greater blurring of the background and greater freedom in your shooting. The camera covers an angle of view equivalent to several large-aperture single focal length lenses, from wide-angle to standard, and offers a high degree of mobility.

- Easy to hold
The lens features an inner focus and inner zoom that does not change in total length when focusing or zooming, ensuring excellent holding performance. The front element of the lens does not rotate, making it easy to use a circular polarizing filter.

- Flare and Ghosting-Free Design
From the initial stages of lens design, thorough measures were taken to prevent flare and ghosting, and the lens is designed to be less susceptible to strong incident light, such as backlighting. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides high-contrast images even when shooting in backlit conditions. The included floral hood further enhances the light-shielding effect.

- Minimum Focusing Distance 28cm
The minimum focusing distance is 28cm across the entire zoom range, and the maximum magnification is 1:4.3, making the lens an excellent choice for close-up photography.

- Ultrasonic motor HSM
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) delivers faster and quieter autofocusing. The HSM's improved AF algorithm also enables smoother autofocusing, and a full-time manual mode is available for fine-tuning the focus simply by turning the focus ring after focusing in AF mode.

- Circular Aperture
The 9-blade circular aperture allows the photographer to enjoy a circular bokeh effect when the aperture is wide open.

- Design Concept
The new lens line features a rubberized connection for the attached hood. The lens cap and AF/MF switch have also been redesigned to enhance the user experience. For internal parts, metals and a new composite material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), which has a high affinity with metal parts, have been appropriately placed to achieve a high level of precision. The last three digits of the year the lens was released are engraved on the lens barrel, allowing identification by year of release.

- Brass bayonet mount
The brass mount is highly accurate and robust. To withstand long-term use, a surface treatment has been applied to increase strength and ensure high-quality lens production.

- Newly developed “SIGMA USB DOCK” exclusively for the new lens line
The SIGMA USB DOCK (sold separately) allows users to update lens firmware and adjust the focus position. Lenses can be attached to the SIGMA USB DOCK connected to a PC, and updates and adjustments can be made by using the dedicated software “SIGMA Optimization Pro.
