The 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art, the first macro lens in the Art line exclusively for mirrorless cameras, combines the highest level of performance expected of a mid-telephoto macro lens, from optical performance to the build quality of the lens body.
Not only is it a high-spec macro lens that can be used for a wide range of applications from macro photography to portraiture, but the unique perspective of a macro lens can also provide an opportunity to rediscover new ways of seeing and enjoying things, such as the beauty and importance of the unexpected in everyday life. The latest optical design maintains high sharpness at all shooting distances, even at infinity, as well as at close-up, which is important in macro photography. In addition, by focusing on correcting axial chromatic aberration, which cannot be handled by the camera's aberration correction function, it is possible to achieve both delicate rendering and clear image quality with no color blur.
In designing the lens, emphasis was also placed on the expression of bokeh, which is often used in mid-telephoto photography. - Art line standard optical and AF performance
The basic concept of the Art line is to prioritize optical performance, and this design delivers high resolution and flatness from the center of the image to the periphery. Coma aberration, which is a concern at the periphery of the image, is also well corrected. Furthermore, the lens has high backlight resistance thanks to ghosting and flare countermeasures that have been thoroughly verified and improved since the early development stage.
In addition to the optimization of the latest functions, such as face/pupil priority AF, which is unique to mirrorless camera systems, the powerful HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) is used in the focus drive system to achieve highly accurate and quiet AF.
All of these elements are realized with the advanced production technology of Sigma's sole production facility, the Aizu Plant, to achieve the highest performance in the Art line.

The lens body is equipped with a focus limiter function convenient for macro photography and an AFL button to which any function can be assigned. The aperture ring, which allows intuitive operation, is equipped with a switch to turn on or off the click, which can be a problem during macro shooting.
