Product Features
Since the late 1990s, G-SHOCK/BABY-G has been producing collaboration models with various environmental organizations and continues to support these groups.
In 2025, under the theme “Love The Sea And The Earth,” we will support “EARTHWATCH Japan,” an organization that supports a wide range of environmental conservation and research efforts, including endangered ecosystems, marine and biological diversity, and climate change.
This model features the MUDMAN from the MASTER OF G series, equipped with a Mud Resist structure.
It is designed with the “hippo” as its motif—a species threatened with extinction due to habitat loss caused by development and climate change, as well as poaching.
The thick, rough skin of the hippopotamus is dynamically rendered on the bezel and band.
It evokes the image of the hippopotamus—the world’s third-largest land mammal—known for its toughness.
The buttons also feature a hippopotamus motif and are finished with rose gold IP plating.
The EARTHWATCH Japan slogan, “Change the World. Yourself.”, is printed on the band, while the logo is printed on the link.
The logo also appears on the LED backlight, and the “Love The Sea And The Earth” symbol is engraved on the case back—reflecting the meticulous design details found throughout the watch.
It is equipped with Tough Solar technology, which operates even under minimal light such as that from fluorescent lamps, embodying our commitment to the environment.
Additionally, the packaging uses a custom box made from recycled paper.
* Biomass plastic is used for the main resin parts of the case, bezel, and band. Made from renewable organic resources, it is expected to contribute to reducing environmental impact.
Hippopotamus: A member of the order Artiodactyla, family Hippopotamidae, and genus Hippopotamus, inhabiting the African continent south of the Sahara Desert.
Their population has plummeted due to habitat destruction caused by agricultural and wetland development, competition for water resources, and poaching for meat and tusks.
They are classified as Vulnerable (VU) on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List and are considered an endangered species.
