A bright f/2.8 maximum aperture lens with a versatile 36mm-equivalent focal length (35mm format equivalent) and a compact and lightweight (490g) design, making it highly mobile and ideal for street snaps and documentary photography.

The 8-group, 11-element construction, including one aspherical lens and two ED lenses, minimizes aberrations to achieve high image quality. Furthermore, the inner focus system, which moves the 6-element lens, minimizes aberration variation with shooting distance. The nano GI coating suppresses ghosting and flare even in obliquely incident light, resulting in clear images.

With a versatile focal length equivalent to 36mm (*35mm film camera equivalent) and a bright maximum aperture of 2.8, the lens is compact and lightweight at 84mm in maximum diameter, 88mm in overall length, and 490g in weight, while maintaining high image quality.
- Toughness design to withstand various shooting environments
The camera is sealed in 10 locations, making it dustproof, drip-proof, and resistant to temperatures as low as -10°C. The camera is designed to withstand light rain and dusty conditions. The camera can be used in outdoor environments where light rain or dust may be present.
- Intuitive and reliable operability
A “C position (command dial mode)” is provided on the aperture ring to enable aperture setting using the command dial on the camera body. A lock mechanism is provided for the “A (Auto)” and “C” positions to prevent the aperture dial from being inadvertently moved.
