The lens focuses on rendering power that is perfectly usable from the widest aperture. In addition to achieving high resolving power from maximum aperture throughout the entire focus range, the lens also focuses on the beauty of the large bokeh effect of F1.2. The lens is significantly compact and lightweight, and is equipped with a full range of features that are adaptable to professional use, including high-precision AF using a new HLA system that reduces volume while maintaining thrust.

Designed with emphasis on high resolving power from the maximum aperture to the full focus range and large, beautiful bokeh expression. The contrast between the sharpness of the focus area and the melting bokeh creates a three-dimensional effect that is only possible at F1.2. In addition, the 13 diaphragm blades also allow for beautiful bokeh.

Brightness of F1.2 maximum aperture and high resolving power from the shortest focal length to infinity
The latest optical design achieves high resolving power from the maximum aperture, with each aberration thoroughly suppressed. In addition, the floating focus, which is advantageous in improving short-range performance, enables a stable, high-level image quality throughout the entire range from the shortest aperture to infinity.

Dual HLA adoption with a new system
A new linear motor HLA system, characterized by its high driving accuracy and quietness, has been developed to significantly reduce the volume while maintaining the same thrust, and is used in each of the two focus groups. Minimized lens construction and mechanical design
While employing glass with a high refractive index and four aspherical lens elements, each piece of glass has been made as thin as possible.
