High image quality achieved through a review of the optical system and the use of special coatings

- The optical system consisting of 17 elements in 12 groups, including one large-aperture glass-molded double-sided aspherical lens and three glass-molded aspherical lenses, delivers even higher image quality than previous models.

- The new optical system design and optimal placement of the lenses significantly improves the amount of peripheral light, achieving high image quality across the entire screen area.

- ASC, a special coating, provides significant anti-reflective effect for light incident at an angle close to perpendicular to the lens surface. This suppresses flare and ghosting, contributing to even higher image quality.

In addition to high image quality, the lens offers improved convenience for comfortable shooting.

- The IS (Image Stabilization System) unit and its optimal control have greatly improved the image stabilization effect from 2.5 steps to 4 steps (*1) in terms of shutter speed.

- The 10 circular diaphragm blades provide a near-circular bokeh shape.

- Minimum focusing distance of 0.45 m and maximum magnification of 0.24x are realized. The lens supports highly mobile shooting.

- The front and back surfaces of the lens are coated with a fluorine coating to prevent oil and water droplets from adhering to the lens. Oil and water droplets adhering to the lens can be easily removed with a dry cloth without the use of solvents.
