The SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a large-aperture standard lens with a maximum aperture of F1.4 that lets you experience the pleasure of a full-fledged large-aperture lens on a mirrorless system. The true appeal of a single focal length lens, with its large bokeh characteristic of a large aperture and sharp, high optical performance, has been realized under the Contemporary line concept, which condenses the latest technologies and design concepts and optimizes the balance of various elements. A single focal length lens with a brightness of f/1.4 at a focal length of around 50mm has an angle of view relatively close to the human field of view, and has long been known as a "standard lens" because of its versatility in a variety of basic photographic styles, such as portraiture and table photography with its shallow depth of field when open, and snapshots and landscape photography with its deep depth of field when closed at the aperture. It has been popularly known as a "standard lens" since long ago. The lens can be used as a standard lens with a maximum aperture of F1.4, which is equivalent to approximately 60mm on a 35mm mount (Micro Four Thirds mount) or approximately 45mm on a Sony E-mount mount.

The design of the focus group was taken into consideration in order to achieve comfortable AF even when shooting video, and while placing the highest priority on high image quality, the compact size and comfortable operability were both achieved. The camera also incorporates state-of-the-art technology, such as digital correction for distortion.

The included lens hood is long and has an anti-reflective coating on the inside to reduce the amount of harmful light entering the lens. The hood is also equipped with anti-slip grooves and rubber to prevent slipping when shooting while holding the hood.

- Adoption of TSC Compactness and High Performance

The SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary uses TSC not only for the lens barrel but also for the aperture component to achieve a compact body and smooth aperture movement. This enables the smooth movement of the aperture while reducing the size of the body. TSC is also used in the lens barrel and parts near the focus area, contributing to high-precision lens manufacturing and maximizing lens performance.

TSC (Thermally Stable Composite)

TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) is a polycarbonate with a coefficient of thermal expansion equivalent to that of aluminum. TSC contributes to maintaining various performances even in the field under severe conditions due to its low expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. It also features a high modulus of elasticity, which is 70% higher than that of polycarbonate with 20% glass content and 25% higher than that of polycarbonate with 30% glass content (both compared to ours).

While taking into consideration the lens configuration and power arrangement, the lens effectively uses aspherical lenses including double-sided aspherical lenses and high refractive index high dispersion glass with high anomalous partial dispersion to suppress peripheral light falloff and compensate for lateral chromatic aberration. By using the image correction function of mirrorless cameras to correct distortion, the correction capability of the optical system is concentrated on improving sharpness to achieve high image quality comparable to that of the Art line, despite the compact design.
