- A New Generation of High-Performance Standard Lenses, Realizing Unprecedented Outstanding Descriptive Performance
The first in the newly developed "opera" series of premium lenses optimized for full-frame high-end digital SLR cameras, the Tokina opera 50mm F1.4 FF is a new generation of high-performance standard lenses employing the latest technology in every aspect, including optical design, coatings and electrical components. It is the first lens in the "opera" series.
- Newly developed coatings provide excellent low reflection characteristics
The newly developed ELR coating (Extremely Low Reflection) is a nanosized porous material that forms a film with an ultra-low refractive index, realizing low reflection characteristics that far exceed those of conventional coatings.
- Dustproof and drip-proof
In order to strengthen the dustproof and drip-proof structure, sealing is applied not only to the rubber sealing at the mount but also to the inside of the lens barrel. This prevents water droplets and dust from entering the lens, enhancing its ability to withstand sudden rain or water exposure.
- Equipped with an ultrasonic motor that excels in quietness
The ring-type ultrasonic motor provides excellent AF response and quiet operation. The speed of focusing on a subject is increased, making it ideal for snapshots and other situations where shutter release opportunities are important.
- Circular Aperture
A circular diaphragm was adopted in the optical design stage in pursuit of a beautiful bokeh effect, as well as in the mechanical design. The aperture blades are designed to be nearly circular in the F1.4 to F2.0 range, a frequently used aperture range for large-aperture standard lenses.
- Focus Ring Rotation Direction
The direction of rotation of the focus ring has been designed to match that of genuine Nikon and Canon lenses in consideration of its frequent use by photographers as a standard lens, so it can be operated without any discomfort.
*opera 50mm F1.4 FF is equipped with an electromagnetic diaphragm and conforms to Nikon AF-S E type.
