- Image quality compatible with ultra-high-pixel digital SLR cameras
A floating focusing mechanism has been adopted to achieve a resolution that can withstand use with digital SLR cameras with ultra-high pixel counts of 50 megapixels or more. It delivers the best performance to the periphery of the image at any shooting distance. Distortion is also suppressed to achieve high image quality without relying on digital correction.

- Optical design that achieves high resolution and thoroughly suppresses chromatic aberration
In addition to optimizing the lens power configuration, two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and two FLD ("F" Low Dispersion) glass elements are used. The lens suppresses chromatic aberration that tends to occur in portraits and other subjects, such as out-of-focus areas in front of and behind the in-focus area and on fine branches, and delivers clear, high-resolution images from the maximum aperture throughout the entire image range.

The 135mm lens is ideal for portrait photography, from close-ups of the subject's face to full-body portraits, as the telephoto effect compresses the perspective while maintaining an appropriate distance from the subject.
