The SIGMA 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM is a zoom lens that covers the basic shooting range from wide-angle to mid-telephoto, with a brightness of F4 throughout the zoom range, an OS (Optical Stabilizer) mechanism for image stabilization, and the HSM for ease of use. - Superior descriptive performance
The SIGMA 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM is a high-performance lens that meets strict performance standards and is worthy of inclusion in the Art lineup. Standard zoom lenses with high zoom ratios are prone to astigmatism, curvature, distortion, and chromatic aberration. In order to compensate for these aberrations, high-performance lenses such as FLD glass, SLD glass, and glass-molded aspherical lenses including double-sided aspherical lenses are appropriately positioned. Furthermore, even at the telephoto end, axial chromatic aberration is effectively corrected to achieve high image rendering performance throughout the entire zoom range. The lens also takes into consideration the drop in peripheral illumination that is often noticeable with lenses of similar specifications. The large aperture of 82mm allows for ample optical performance.

- Equipped with an image stabilization mechanism
The lens is equipped with an OS (Optical Stabilizer) mechanism to compensate for camera shake, making it ideal for indoor and evening scenes and for close-up photography.

The lens barrel has been slimmed down by placing the zoom ring on the front side. The zoom ring is wider and thicker for a more comfortable operation. The inner focusing system, which does not change the total length of the lens when focusing, provides a stable holding performance. The front element of the lens does not rotate, making it easy to use a circular polarizing filter.

Thorough measures against flare and ghosting were taken from the initial stage of lens design to minimize the effects of strong incident light, such as backlighting. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides highly contrasty images even when shooting in backlit conditions.

The minimum focusing distance is 45cm across the entire zoom range, and the maximum magnification is 1:4.6, making the lens an excellent choice for close-up photography.
