Product Features
- "X Lens" pursues descriptive performance that maximizes the texture of the subject
This is LUMIX's top-of-the-line lens developed in pursuit of descriptive performance that maximizes the texture of the subject, especially for the expanding mirrorless interchangeable lens for the Micro Four Thirds system.
The use of two ED lenses reduces chromatic aberration, and the effective placement of aspherical lenses delivers excellent contrast performance all the way to the periphery of the image.
- The world's first* motorized zoom function with lever operation for easy composition
The world's first* motorized zoom function. The zoom lever on the side of the lens housing allows the user to zoom in and out at will during photo shooting and also reduces image distortion during movie shooting, providing unprecedented ease of use.
(*As of August 26, 2011. (*As of August 26, 2011, as an interchangeable lens exclusively for digital SLR cameras)
- Compact and lightweight sunken-body lens mechanism improves mobility
The lens housing mechanism is a retractable type, making it as compact as a pancake lens. The effective placement of an aspherical lens and ED lens has simultaneously realized high performance and a compact, lightweight design.
- Nanosurface Coating Reduces Ghosting and Flare
By forming a thin film with a nano-level microstructure and an ultra-low refractive index on the lens surface, the reflection of light rays is dramatically reduced in the entire visible light range (380 nm to 780 nm).
This dramatically reduces ghosting and flare, resulting in clear, sharp images.
- The first interchangeable lens to incorporate "POWER O.I.S." for enhanced image stabilization
For the first time, interchangeable lenses are equipped with the "POWER O.I.S." image stabilization function, which has been well-received in compact cameras.
By detecting camera shake 4,000 times per second, it improves the detection accuracy of camera shake in the low-frequency range (large and slow camera shake) as well as in the high-frequency range (fast and small camera shake).
This detection is also effective against large camera shake when using the zoom (at the telephoto end), allowing for more blur-free and cleaner hand-held photography.
