Basic Information

Product name Leica Q2 Monochrome 19055
Model No. 19055

Product Features

- Adoption of a 35mm full-size sensor dedicated to monochrome photography
The image sensor of the Leica Q2 Monochrom is a full-size 35mm sensor specially developed for monochrome photography with 47.3 effective megapixels. In addition to capturing finely detailed still images and 4K video, the Q2 Monochrom is capable of high-sensitivity photography with a maximum ISO sensitivity equivalent to 100,000. The Leica Summilux f1.7/28mm ASPH. lens delivers outstanding descriptive performance in combination with the high-performance image sensor. With a bright f/1.7 maximum aperture, the lens can capture beautiful images even in low-light scenes. These features make it an ideal camera for photographers who prefer black-and-white photography and for photography enthusiasts who are interested in the world of black-and-white photography. The camera offers a choice of manual focus (MF) or autofocus (AF). Macro photography is also possible, with a minimum focusing distance of 17 cm. With these features, you can freely exercise your creativity to take attractive black-and-white photographs. The lens barrel is equipped with a lock mechanism for AF/MF setting, and can be switched to macro mode by simply rotating the barrel.

- Crop photography with an angle of view equivalent to that of a 75mm lens is possible at maximum.
The camera is also equipped with a function that allows crop shooting at a maximum angle of view equivalent to that of a 75mm lens, allowing users to enjoy more flexible expression at a variety of angles of view. In addition to the default angle of view of a 28mm lens, the crop function can also be used to enlarge the angle of view to that of a 35mm, 50mm, or 75mm lens. The electronic viewfinder and rear LCD monitor display a bright frame that indicates the shooting range according to the set angle of view. When shooting cropped images, images are recorded in JPEG format with 30.0, 14.7, and 6.6 megapixels for the angle of view settings equivalent to the 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm lenses, respectively. The 28mm camera always records in both JPEG and DNG formats with the maximum number of pixels recorded.

- OLED electronic viewfinder
Like the Leica Q2, the Leica Q2 is also equipped with an OLED electronic viewfinder. The high-resolution display allows the photographer to see the subject clearly under all conditions. Unlike LCDs, where brightness is adjusted across the entire screen, OLED allows brightness to be adjusted pixel by pixel, resulting in extremely high contrast and deeper tones than previously possible. Furthermore, power consumption is reduced despite the high resolution. The camera is also equipped with an eye sensor, so it automatically switches to the electronic viewfinder display when you bring your eyes close to it. The time lag between display switching has also been reduced to an imperceptible level.

- Auto Focus System
The autofocus system achieves sharp focusing in less than 0.15 seconds, the fastest in its class. Further improvements to the LEICA MAESTRO II image processing engine have enabled the camera to achieve an unparalleled high-speed continuous shooting performance of 10 frames per second at a maximum recording pixel count of 47.3 megapixels, allowing users to capture precious moments in their daily lives. In addition, the camera is equipped with a movie recording function that allows users to record images in 4K quality, further expanding the range of creative expression. In addition to 4K video (3840 x 2160, 30fps/24fps), this video function, which enables impressive monochrome video expression, can also capture standard Full HD video (120fps/60fps/30fps/24fps). The camera is also compatible with the Leica FOTOS app, which, when combined with the Wi-Fi function, allows users to upload captured still images to social media for quick and easy sharing, and to change various camera settings and shoot remotely from a smartphone. In addition, the camera can be constantly connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth LE (Bluetooth Low Energy).

- Exterior Design
The exterior design of the new Leica M1 is based on the traditional Leica concept of eliminating the unnecessary and retaining only the truly essential. Only materials of the highest quality and durability are used in the manufacturing process. The monotone coloring and classic-looking leather exterior of the Leica M150 combine both functionality and design. In terms of operability, a unique concept of intuitive operation has been adopted. In the menu, items have been streamlined and special items for a camera dedicated to monochrome photography have been added. In addition, since color-related settings are unnecessary, these menu items have been removed for both still and moving images, and color tones (blue, sepia, and selenium) have been added instead.
