The Canon RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM is a "Luxury" lens that pursues the highest level of performance in terms of descriptive performance, operability, and robustness. The large aperture and short back focus*1 of the "RF Mount" lens provide high image quality from the center of the image to the periphery. In addition, the lens is newly equipped with the Image Stabilizer (IS), which is effective for a shutter speed equivalent of 5 stops*2, and Canon's proprietary nano USM ultrasonic motor for comfortable still image and movie shooting.

- The large aperture and short back focus of the "RF Mount" allows for a high degree of freedom in lens design, resulting in both high image quality and compact size. The large-aperture lens can be placed close to the imaging surface on the camera side, enabling high image quality from the center of the image to the periphery.
- Focal length of 15-35mm is achieved. Focal length is 1mm wider than that of current EF lenses. Enables photographers to shoot without moving too far away from the subject in architecture and landscapes, and to express a greater sense of perspective.
- A maximum aperture of 2.8 at the entire zoom range, which is well-reputed by professionals and high-amateur users for its ease of exposure setting and adjustment. Fast shutter speeds even in low-light conditions, enabling photography with reduced subject blur.
- The 12-group, 16-element optical design, including three Glass Molded Aspherical Lenses and two UD Lenses, reduces various aberrations that can cause image quality degradation.
- Two of Canon's original special coatings, SWC (Subwavelength Structure Coating) and ASC (Air Sphere Coating), are used. Dustproof - Designed for durability with drip-proof construction and fluorine coating.

- The mount, control ring, and focus ring are dustproof and drip-proof*, designed with professionals and high-amateur users in mind.
- The front and back surfaces of the lens are coated with a fluorine coating to prevent oil and water droplets from adhering to the lens. Oil and other contaminants adhering to the lens can be easily removed with a dry cloth without the use of solvents.
*Dustproof - Although the lens is designed to be splash-proof, it cannot completely prevent the ingress of sand, dust, water droplets, etc.
