While maintaining the optical design that pursues the highest performance, the new interchangeable lens for the Sony E-mount has developed a control algorithm that optimizes the AF drive system and communication speed, and supports AF-C mode, which was not possible with the previous mount converter MC-11.
As with the MC-11, the camera is also fully compatible with in-body image stabilization and in-body aberration correction functions (vignetting correction, lateral chromatic aberration correction, and distortion correction).
- Dedicated AF tuned for each lens
The AF drive control program tuned for each lens and high-speed communications enable AF performance equivalent to that of dedicated mirrorless camera lenses. In particular, with a body that supports Fast Hybrid AF, high tracking performance in AF-C mode can be achieved. In addition, even with bodies equipped only with contrast AF, highly accurate AF shooting is possible.
- In-body image stabilization
The camera body's image stabilization function is supported. The camera automatically recognizes the focal length of each lens for optimal image stabilization.
- Equipped with “Lens Compensation” data
The camera is fully compatible with the in-body aberration correction functions “Lens Compensation” (Vignetting Compensation, Lateral Chromatic Aberration Compensation, and Distortion Compensation). Corrections tailored to the optical characteristics of the lens enable further improvement of image quality.
- Rigidity achieved by the native mount
The native mount provides a high degree of rigidity that could not be achieved with a mount adapter. The brass mount, which has been surface-treated to enhance its strength, provides a high degree of precision and robustness. The mount joints are rubber-sealed to protect against dust and drips.
