The first* Leica DG Macro lens for the Micro Four Thirds System
The LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm/F2.8 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S is a compact and lightweight macro lens that is highly anticipated by Micro Four Thirds System camera users, boasting the tasteful descriptive performance only possible with Leica.
The lens meets Leica's strict performance evaluation standards and achieves outstanding optical performance with minimal distortion, ghosting/flare, and loss of peripheral resolution. Composed of 14 elements in 10 groups, including one aspherical lens and one ED (extra-low dispersion) lens, the lens takes advantage of the Micro Four Thirds standard to achieve a compact and lightweight design.
A 3-group floating inner focus system is used for focusing. The lens is universal in length, compact, and high-resolution. A stepping motor is used to drive the lens for quiet and comfortable shooting. In addition, the minimum focusing distance can be switched with the focus switch (15cm ⇔ 50cm). This allows you to select a comfortable focusing distance according to your photographic objectives.
Equipped with an anti-shake function, this highly mobile lens can be used not only for equal magnification and close-up photography, but also as a normal medium telephoto lens for a wide range of subjects, including portraits, telephoto snaps, and landscape photography.
