A full-size mirrorless camera that combines high shooting performance for still and moving images, communication, and expandability, which are demanded by high-amateur users and image creators.

The camera meets a wide range of still image and video shooting needs with a new subject detection function*1 that is compatible with horses, trains, and airplanes (jets and helicopters), as well as advanced high-speed continuous shooting, powerful image stabilization, and various movie shooting functions to suit different applications.

- Newly developed CMOS sensor and powerful image stabilization realize high image quality in a wide variety of shooting situations

The newly developed full-size CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of up to approximately 24.2 megapixels*2 and the DIGIC X imaging engine deliver both high resolution and high sensitivity with a maximum normal use ISO of 102400 (when shooting still images). The camera is also equipped with an in-body 5-axis image stabilization mechanism, which provides an image stabilization effect of 8.0 stops*3 through coordinated control with the RF lens equipped with an in-lens optical image stabilization mechanism.

- Advanced high-performance AF and high-speed continuous shooting to capture the decisive moment

EOS iTR*4 AF X delivers superior subject detection and tracking performance. With horses, trains, and airplanes (jets and helicopters) newly added to the subject detection function, the camera now supports the pupil, face, head, and torso of a person in "People"; the pupil, face, and entire body of dogs, cats, birds, and horses in "Animal Priority"; and motor sports cars and bikes, trains, and airplanes (jets and helicopters) in "Vehicle Priority. The "Vehicle Priority" function supports whole body and spot detection. In addition, a new "Auto" setting has been added that allows the camera to automatically select a subject for detection without having to use the menu to change the detection target. In addition, the camera is capable of high-speed continuous shooting*5 at a maximum of approximately 12 frames per second with AF/AE tracking when shooting with a mechanical shutter or electronic pre-curtain, and at a maximum of approximately 40 frames per second with AF/AE tracking when shooting with an electronic shutter.

- Video performance that meets diversifying production needs

The K-5's video recording system is designed to meet a variety of video production needs, including 4K/60P video recording with 6K oversampling without cropping and Full HD/180P high frame rate video recording*6, as well as Canon Log 3, Canon's unique gamma characteristic, and support for external RAW video recording, Canon Log 3, Canon's proprietary gamma characteristic, and external recording of RAW video are also supported.

- 0.5-inch OLED* color electronic viewfinder with approximately 3.69 million dots

The camera is equipped with a high-quality electronic viewfinder (EVF) worthy of the top-end EOS cameras, featuring a 0.5-inch OLED (organic EL) display panel with approximately 3.69 million effective dots. The field of view is approximately 100%. The viewfinder offers a comfortable viewfinder with an eye point of approx. 23mm, which is easy to look through even with glasses, an approx. 0.76x viewfinder magnification, and a diopter adjustment range of -4.0 to 2.0m-1(dpt).

- SD card (UHS-II) compatible dual slots

Two UHS-II compatible SD card slots are provided*. ［The SD card slot is equipped with two UHS-II-compatible SD cards*, allowing for automatic card switching and writing to the same SD card, as well as the ability to sort still images and movies. Image copying between media is also supported.

*Eye-Fi cards and multimedia cards (MMC) are not supported.

- Movie Performance for Creators

The EOS R6 Mark II was developed with the aim of becoming a hybrid camera that can be chosen as a video camera, rather than a mirrorless camera with video functions, to meet the demands of video creators and vloggers.
