- High-quality 10x zoom

The wide range of focal lengths, from wide-angle for capturing a wide area to telephoto for capturing distant subjects, is covered by two UD lenses and one aspherical lens to achieve high image quality throughout the entire zoom range.

- Fast and Smooth AF (Auto Focus)

The "nano USM" is used to focus on the subject at high speed. Highly accurate and smooth AF is possible. It also suppresses drive noise, which can be a concern during movie recording. In addition, the first-ever* "Dynamic IS" reduces camera shake, which can be large, such as when shooting while walking. This allows users to enjoy high-quality video expression.

- Powerful support for hand-held shooting

The image stabilization mechanism achieves 5 stops*. This provides solid support for hand-held telephoto shooting, which is prone to camera shake. The lens offers excellent performance when shooting from a distance, such as when aiming at a moving subject from a distance. It is also reliable in scenes where shutter speed tends to be slow, such as in dimly lit or indoor locations.

- Equipped with Canon's first interchangeable lens* "focus/control ring

The focus/control ring combines the functions of the focus ring and control ring into one ring. A switch allows the ring to be used as either a focus ring or a control ring. This allows you to change various settings while looking through the viewfinder for more intuitive operation.

- Capable of shooting closer to the subject

The minimum focusing distance is 0.78m at the telephoto side, and the maximum magnification is 0.26x. This telephoto zoom lens allows you to get much closer to your subject and effectively create a bokeh effect.

10x optical zoom with a focal length of 24mm to 240mm for a wide range of shooting situations

The 10x optical zoom covers focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto. It is suitable for a wide range of shooting situations, including travel, snapshots, landscapes, and portraits. The lens also features Canon's highest image stabilization performance of up to approximately 5 stops in shutter speed conversion, enabling blur-free shooting in telephoto and night scenes where camera shake is likely to occur.

Superior descriptive performance combined with small size and light weight

Taking advantage of the large aperture and short back focus characteristic of the RF mount, a large lens is placed at the rear end of the lens group (camera side) to achieve both high descriptive performance from the center to the periphery of the image and a compact and lightweight design.

In addition, the use of UD lenses and aspherical lenses reduces various aberrations that cause image degradation, resulting in high image quality.

Image stabilization of up to 5 stops*.

The revised control algorithm of the optical IS and the dual-sensing IS provide an image stabilization effect of up to 5 stops* when shooting still images. This allows for slower shutter speeds in dark scenes, expanding the possibilities for hand-held shooting.

Ultrasonic "Nano USM" motor for comfortable still and movie shooting

Canon's proprietary "Nano USM" ultrasonic motor speeds up AF.

Combined with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF in the EOS R system mirrorless cameras, it delivers high-speed, high-precision AF during still image shooting and smooth AF during movie shooting.
